The Fly Easy, Romania's leading online travel agency, and Expedia Group, one of the world's largest travel technology companies, today announced a multi-year strategic partnership that will bring Expedia's extensive hotel inventory to The Fly Easy's platform across all Central and Eastern European markets.
The partnership, effective immediately, integrates Expedia's portfolio of more than 3.4 million hotel properties worldwide into The Fly Easy's search results. Travellers booking through The Fly Easy will now have access to exclusive negotiated rates on hotels in over 190 countries, including boutique properties, major chains, and alternative accommodations that were previously unavailable on the Romanian platform.
"This partnership represents a quantum leap in the value we can deliver to our customers," said Andrei Mihailov, CEO of The Fly Easy. "For the first time, our travellers in Romania, Poland, Hungary, and Bulgaria can access Expedia's full hotel marketplace — with rates negotiated specifically for the CEE region — all within the familiar Fly Easy experience they already trust."
Under the terms of the agreement, The Fly Easy will leverage Expedia's Rapid API, enabling real-time access to inventory, pricing, and availability data. The integration will be rolled out in three phases: hotel-only bookings will go live in March 2026, followed by flight-and-hotel package bundles in June 2026, and full dynamic packaging capabilities by September 2026.
Ariane Gorin, President of Expedia Partner Solutions, described the deal as a strategic entry point into one of Europe's fastest-growing travel markets. "The Fly Easy has built an exceptional platform with deep roots in the CEE region," Gorin said. "Their local expertise, combined with our technology and inventory, creates a powerful proposition for travellers across Eastern Europe. We see this as a long-term partnership with significant growth potential."
The agreement includes a joint marketing commitment of $12 million over the first two years, with co-branded campaigns planned for major travel seasons. Both companies will also collaborate on developing region-specific features, including support for local payment methods such as Romanian mobile payment platform Revolut Business and Polish payment gateway Przelewy24, as well as multi-currency pricing in Romanian Leu, Polish Złoty, Hungarian Forint, and Czech Koruna.
Travel industry analysts have noted that the partnership positions The Fly Easy as a formidable challenger to established pan-European OTAs in the region. "This deal fundamentally changes the competitive landscape in CEE online travel," said Marco Bloom, a senior analyst at Phocuswright. "The Fly Easy gains access to inventory and technology that previously only the largest global players could offer, while Expedia gains a trusted local partner in a market that has historically been underserved by Western European platforms."
The announcement comes as the CEE travel market is projected to grow at a compound annual rate of 14% through 2028, driven by rising disposable incomes, increased air connectivity, and growing digital adoption among travellers. The Fly Easy's own data shows that hotel bookings from its Romanian and Polish users grew 180% in 2025, signalling strong unmet demand for a comprehensive accommodation offering on the platform.
Both companies emphasised that the partnership will not affect existing booking workflows or customer support processes. The Fly Easy will continue to operate its own customer service centres in Bucharest, Warsaw, and Prague, with dedicated support teams trained on the new hotel products. The company also confirmed that its existing price-match guarantee and flexible cancellation policies will extend to all hotel bookings sourced through the Expedia integration.
